About Us

Who I am

Meet Cyril Mauffrey MD, FACS, FRCS, US Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon Dedicated to Helping You Heal.

My Story:

I have devoted my career to helping patients recover from complex orthopedic conditions, especially those with fractures that did not heal or healed improperly. My expertise spans complex fractures of the lower and upper extremity, the management of fractures that did not heal or healed improperly, and total hip replacement using a mini-invasive anterior approach.

I am honored to have over 250 peer-reviewed publications and seven authored books that contribute to the advancement of orthopedic surgery. As a teacher and mentor, I travel worldwide, sharing my knowledge with other surgeons. I am committed to bringing that same level of excellence to your care.

Mission Statement:

My mission is to ensure every patient feels heard, understood, and confident in their treatment journey. When you’re facing challenges from previous surgeries, I’m here to provide answers and solutions.

My professional roadmap

Originally from France, I have done my medical school at the university of Turin in Italy. I completed my basic and advanced surgical training in England through the Royal College of Surgeons and obtained my board certification with the Royal College of Surgeons in orthopedic surgery and trauma. I then came to the US to complete an additional year of advanced training in Orthopedic Trauma at the University of Louisville and became US board certified with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. I have been practicing at Denver Health Medical Center since 2011 and have been the Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic surgery, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation since 2018. I am a full Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

As the editor in chief of the European Journal of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology published by Springer, I have the privilege to inform and drive some of the knowledge in our specialty.
